Korean advertising geniuses are sending university students to Cannes Lions

Serviceplan Korea has been selected as a judge for the 'Dream Lions 2024,' hosted by Cannes Lions Korea

 

  • The 4-yearly Cannes Lions student competition 'Dream Lions' is underway with submissions accepted until April 5th.

Korea's leading creative professionals have been selected as judges for the 'Dream Lions 2024' university student competition hosted by Cannes Lions Korea.

On the 28th, Cannes Lions Korea announced that Nam Woo-ri, the Studiok110 CD; Park Hyun-woo, CEO of Innored; Saffaan Qadir, CD of Paulus; Won Jae-hoon, CEO of 1CD; Lee Seung-jae, CEO of Idiot; Lee Han-gyu, CD of Monf; and Huh Ic-seo, CD of Serviceplan Korea (in Korean alphabetical order) have been chosen as judges for the 2024 Dream Lions competition. Additionally, Professor Sung Min-jung from Chung-Ang University will serve as the head judge, overseeing the evaluation of submissions for Dream Lions.

The Grand Prix winning team of Dream Lions 2024 will receive tickets to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the world's largest and most prestigious creativity festival, taking place in Cannes, France, from June 17th to 21st. They will also receive full support for airfare and accommodation. Furthermore, companies such as Serviceplan Korea, Studiok110, Innored, and Paulus will provide internship opportunities through interviews for the winners.

This year, the Presidential Committee on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth by 2050 (hereinafter referred to as the Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Commission) and Hecto are participating as sponsors of Dream Lions' tasks. Teams or individuals aspiring to participate in Dream Lions can choose from the detailed tasks proposed by the Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Commission and Hecto, submit campaign proposals based on ideas contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs aim to end global poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that everyone can enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

The Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Commission have proposed campaigns to spread the national brand of carbon neutrality and green growth and to encourage nationwide participation in achieving carbon neutrality and green growth. Hecto has formulated marketing strategies to establish and expand the brand awareness of basic income and to present marketing strategies that demonstrate the slogan "Everyday Income" for basic income. Participation registration and task submissions for Dream Lions will be open from April 1st to 5th through the Cannes Lions website, and it's free of charge with no separate entry fee. Judging will be conducted in two stages, with the first round results announced on April 16th. Teams selected for the finals will undergo a presentation assessment with judges. The final results will be announced on April 24th.

Dream Lions, hosted by Cannes Lions Korea, is open to individuals under 30 years old who are currently enrolled or on leave from domestic or international universities with a duration of at least two years or equivalent full-time educational institutions. Each team can consist of up to four members. Professionals in any field cannot apply. Detailed information can be found on the Cannes Lions Korea website.
